Suite para flauta y cuerdas

Suite para flauta y cuerdas are some of Omar Acosta‘s symphonic compositions. It is composed of two suites for flute and string orchestra, with which he regularly toured as a soloist. These pieces recreate two worlds: Venezuela, the country where the musician was born, and Spain, where he resides, constituting particular styles that have exerted an important influence on him.

The first of these is the Suite Venezolana para flauta y orquesta de cuerdas,, which was premiered by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela in 1992, and the second and most recent, the Suite Flamenca para flauta y orquesta de cuerdas, premiered by the Orchestra of Strings “Cordes del Mon” (Barcelona, 2012).
